I feel like I have SO much to say! But this should really excite you guys, because I am often told I don't update enough...but I'm really starting to get on a roll. I feel like if I had time (and more importantly, energy), to update twice this weekend, than I can update through almost anything. I have had one of the busiest weekends ever...and I will hit on that in a few, but first I want to say.............
I GOT A SOLO ACT PART IN THE SHOW!!!! :)
Mine & Alex's audition apparently went over well, because now we're performing a guitar & singing duet in the Variety Show, in addition to the 5 musical numbers I'm doing with the ensemble. We're singing 3 songs... we've decided on the first two, but we're still bouncing ideas around for the 3rd. Maybe an original? Anyway, I'm suuuper excited for this... I feel like it will do loads for my confidence. I mean, "passing" the audition already has, for that matter.
Ok, I have lots of pictures to share with you guys. And I'm going to be more on top of it now, because I had a near-crisis today... when my phone ran out of memory and decided to reboot my photo album (essentially my only practical way of everyday photography, because I lost my camera charger for my small camera and I've already replaced it like 3 times, so my mom practically forbids it now, until I can keep track of one), and my other camera is my Canon t2i, which I use for special occasions and projects...definitely not for totin' around at the bars or anything. Aaannyyywaaaay... my phone deleted all my photos from last semester on... and for a few minutes (until I deleted a bunch of apps & my photos came back), I was freaking out! I lost all my photos from Christmas, all my makeup pics, SPRING BREAK.... AHH! But, crisis averted! Thank goodness! But this just means, more photos will be comin' your way, because I can't afford for something like that to happen again.
So here we go. These are from Theatrical Aging Week. We learned to paint on makeup to age someone for theater. The idea here is to use big lines, highlights and shadows, because too much detail will make it look muddy from afar. This look would not work for film, because it's not incredibly realistic or subtle, but it works wonders for the stage.
Me as an old person... aahhhh! Hardly recognizable, right? Ryan did a great job! (Even though we were joking the whole time, in the early stages, about how I looked like a cat.. and then he kept calling me "Simba. Siiiiiimmmmbaaa.")
I must share, the highlight of this exercise for me, was my teacher telling me and a cluster of my classmates that I had perfect eyebrows. She said, "Seriously, they could not be more perfect." And if any of you remember
this post, you'll remember I was slightly self-conscious about the brows. But I'll tell you what...that threading membership was some of the best dollas I've ever spent.
This is probably exactly what Diane will look like as an elder.

For my Theatrical Aging homework, I used my bestie Andrew's roommate, Gabe again, from
this post. This assignment was cool, because Andrew and I combined our homework... I had to do my makeup and Andrew had to make a film with a certain mood/lighting for his Color Management for Cinematography class. Andrew is a super talented filmmaker, and you can find this short film assignment, along with others at his blog

Ok now, in honor of my extremely busy weekend, in which I worked on two film shoots in two days, I am posting pictures of makeup I did on a previous film shoot a while back. This weekend I worked with my friends, including Andrew, Alex, Kevin, our unintentionally hiiiilarious friend Cosmo, and Nico & Cory (pictured below). Friday was Andrew's shoot, Saturday was Kevin's, and in those two days, we all logged about...28 hours? Something crazy like that, but after Kevin's shoot was over, Cory, Alex, Andrew and I celebrated by eating a cake right outta the pan while waiting for our train at the Bart station. Anyway, I'm super pumped for both of their films! We shot them on 16 mm color film and I think they're gonna turn out awesome! (Maaaaybe you'll get to see it on Andrew's blog one day. Maybe). If not, I'll just come back and tell you how great it is and you'll just have to take my word for it!

here. Andrew, Alex, Kevin, Cory & everyone have worked on several of these films, but I was a horror flick virgin, and this was my first one for this company, but I had a lot of fun beatin' these guys up!

This post is super long, but only because I had a lot to say before I go into hiding for the next couple days. Tomorrow (today?) is Sunday, and I have so much work to do... makeup homework, shoot & edit an experimental film (it's a weekend of shooting AHH!), memorize a scene & a monologue and read a play for acting, and pick a song to sing for class on Tuesday yikes! Oh, plus finish writing that dreaded paper for my Great Directors class.
